I never set out to start a business. It happened by accident. At the time, I was just trying to make it through. Between my senior-level engineering courses, volunteering 20 - 30 hrs / week as the national chair of an engineering society , and working for the dean, I was stretched thin. One day, he pulled me aside and said I needed to quit my job because I had too much on my plate. But I didn't want to quit. I wanted a better system.

I prayed and God reminded me of the 3 things that He told me to do, in my freshman year, that yielded easy As. I did those 3 things, achieved a 4.0 GPA, got reelected as national chairperson, and kept my job!

After undergrad, I did what any engineer would do... I researched why the system worked for all those I initially shared it with and me.

I started studying how the brain actually learns. I went deep into learning theory and cognitive science, and what I found was shocking. Most people remember only 10–30% of what they read. My system raised that to 80–90%. From that, Guaranteed 4.0, the company, was born.
